HEAVY-DUTY BACKWARD CURVE FANS

Robinson Backward Curve (BC) industrial fans represent a versatile fan series for quiet, high-efficiency service. The Backward Curve design, for forced or induced-draft service, is used for many applications in many industries. BC fans are engineered and built to accommodate capacities to one million cfm and pressure ranges to 120 inches of water pressure.

BC Series fans from Robinson are currently in operation in cement, power, coal, lime and paper facilities throughout the U.S. and the world. Robinson builds BC wheels to 180 inches diameter and, as required, units are constructed of special alloy materials.

NEW BC1135 Backward Curved High-Efficiency Fan

The Robinson BC1135 was developed to provide our customers with a more efficient, economical and robust fan design in the range of medium to high-volume applications. This fan type offers a favorable solution for slightly dirty airstreams in higher volumetric flow applications in place of atypical hollow airfoil blade design.

BENEFITS:

  • Upwards of 85% efficient
  • Simplified and rugged design
  • Developed within Robinson Fans’ AMCA accredited laboratory
  • Optimized footprint with reduced bearing span
  • Higher temperature design without the need for center support provisions
  • Wide range of high efficiency operating points
  • Wide range of stable aerodynamic operation
  • Non-overloading power curve

Research/Performance Testing

The BC fan is available from Robinson as a result of ongoing research and testing in Robinson’s lab facilities. BC prototype fans have been tested by Robinson on the basis of air performance, sound and vibration. Test data and field experience provide Robinson with the expertise to engineer and build fans for quiet, high-efficiency service.

Engineering

Robinson “engineered” fans are designed to satisfy the requirements of individual applications and service conditions. Finite element stress analysis and resonant frequency testing are utilized to engineer fans that are dependable for optimum performance.

BC Repair and Rebuilding

Robinson Fans offers extensive repair and rebuild services as an alternative to new or replacement equipment.

Fan Repair is Cost Effective

  • Robinson determines and corrects causes of equipment failure.
  • Robinson re-uses original components when possible.
  • Robinson incorporates unique design features for improved efficiency.

Wear, corrosion, component damage and material buildup lead to fan failure and costly system shutdown. A thorough maintenance program and periodic inspection of equipment help prevent problems.

Robinson’s team of service representatives is available for fan inspection and emergency consultation/service.
